Monkey Hook® Completes Asset Sale to The Hillman Group
Irvine, CA – On March 7th, 2022, The Monkey Hook, LLC completed the sale of its assets to The Hillman Solutions (HLMN). Founded in 2004, the Monkey Hook became the first company to successfully commercialize a wire-formed picture hook for use on drywall where no stud exists. Monkey Hooks require no tools to install, and make only a small hole in the wall.
From getting its first major retail start from Ace Hardware in 2005, the Monkey Hook brand has become one of the most popular picture-hanging solutions in North America, and is widely distributed among the premier hardware, mass merchandise and home improvement retailers including The Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, as well as Ace, Orgill, Do-It-Best, and True Value hardware retailers among others.

This sale will enable Kurrasch to focus on continuing to grow his other company, K-CO Products, LLC which produces and distributes other ‘Best in Class’ products including the Little Big Shot® hose nozzle line, the Johnny Jolter® PRO Power Plunger, and its GLÜ brand ‘no-solvent’ all-purpose adhesive.

Kurrasch will continue to be involved in the business for a period of time, assisting in the transition to Hillman Solutions (HLMN). The remainder of the team will become part of Hillman and continue to manage the day-to-day of the business.
