Home Depot Activates Disaster Response Command Center Due to Hurricane Dorian

As Hurricane Dorian intensifies and moves toward the southeastern United States, The Home Depot has activated its Disaster Response Command Center to support customers and communities preparing for the storm.

The company’s merchandising, operations and supply chain teams are working with suppliers and transportation partners to move supplies to stores in the storm’s potential path.

There are more than 150 Home Depot stores in areas that could experience impacts from Hurricane Dorian. Stores will remain open as long as it is safe to do so.

Additionally, The Home Depot Foundation is working with national disaster response nonprofits such as American Red Cross, Team Rubicon, Convoy of Hope, Operation Blessing and All Hands and Hearts.

This spring, prior to hurricane season, the Foundation pre-stocked the warehouses of various nonprofit partners with emergency supplies to ensure they are prepared to activate to impacted communities quickly.

“Whenever a storm is approaching, our hope is that any damage and impact to communities is minimal, but we’re prepared and ready to respond before and after a storm strikes to support our communities and our associates,” said Hector Padilla, president of The Home Depot’s Southern Division. “We appreciate the hard work and dedication of our associates, our vendors and The Home Depot Foundation’s nonprofit partners.”
